Magnetic Lock Selection Requirements

Magnetic locks offer significant advantages in convenience, eliminating the need for keys and allowing unlocking via fingerprints or passwords. If a user prioritizes ease of use, a magnetic lock is a suitable choice.

 

Durability Requirements: The magnetic module should have a lifespan of ≥100,000 cycles. For home use, 304 stainless steel/thickened zinc alloy lock bodies are preferred. For commercial electromagnetic locks, aluminum alloy shells paired with a stainless steel lock cylinder with a diameter ≥15mm and a silicon steel sheet thickness ≥2mm are recommended. Avoid plastic magnetic modules altogether, as they are prone to breakage and demagnetization over long-term use.

 

Magnet Material Requirements: Neodymium iron boron permanent magnets are preferred due to their more stable magnetic force and resistance to rapid decay.

 

For home indoor magnetic locks, the product should have a noise reduction value of ≥30 decibels and include a latch buffer structure and a noise-reducing strip. Be wary of products that only label "quiet" without specifying a noise reduction value, as their actual noise reduction effect is usually limited.
