Description

There are three types of brass locks on the market.

The first is full brass, which is very rare and expensive. The second is a brass shell with a zinc alloy core, which is the most common type. The third is solid brass throughout-and this is what we manufacture.

This solid brass rim lock contains a copper content of 57% or higher. The lock body, panel, and bolt are all made of solid brass, with no hidden zinc alloy components. This is important because zinc alloy can degrade and become brittle after 3 to 5 years.

We once disassembled a four-year-old brass-shell lock. The internal structure had deteriorated significantly and could be broken apart by hand. In contrast, our solid brass lock remains unchanged even after 10 years-still metallic, solid, and strong.

The panel thickness is 2.5mm or more, and the large size weighs over 800g. Customers often pick it up and comment on its substantial weight. The bolt diameter is 12mm or more. Bolt options include brass or stainless steel. The backset is 60mm, and the center distance is 72mm, making it compatible with standard door preparations.

Brass does not require electroplating to maintain its appearance.

As an alloy of copper and zinc, brass naturally develops a protective oxide layer on its surface. This layer preserves the material and enhances its appearance over time.

A good example is a historic residence in Shanghai. The owner selected solid brass locks for all doors, aiming for a natural patina over time. We installed 120 solid brass rim locks in 2021. When we revisited the project this year, the surface had developed a warm, matte patina, which the owner was very satisfied with.

We guarantee the following:

After receiving your solid brass rim lock, you may send it to any laboratory for copper content testing. If the copper content is below 57%, we will issue a full refund plus an additional 10%. We have maintained this guarantee for over 25 years, and it has never been claimed.

We support OEM production, including logo engraving and antique surface finishes. The MOQ is 500 units, lower than our standard requirement due to the higher material cost. This allows distributors to test market demand.

This lock is suitable for luxury villas, heritage building restoration, five-star hotel executive floors, and yacht interiors.
