Large Rim Lock

A large door requires everything to be larger-thicker panels, stronger steel, and a longer bolt. Simply enlarging a normal lock will cause it to fail. We discovered this through extensive testing and breakage trials.

This large rim lock features a panel size of 180×50mm or larger, with a thickness of 2.5mm or more. Why such thickness? A large door typically weighs 40kg to 80kg. When it closes, the impact force is applied directly to the panel. A 1.5mm panel will bend within six months, while a 2.5mm panel can remain straight for 10 years.

The bolt features two or more locking points. The square bolt measures 15×15mm, with a throw of 25mm or more-5–10mm longer than a standard lock. Why is this extra length necessary? Because heavy doors often have thicker frames. If the bolt is too short, it will not engage properly.

The backset is 60mm. The center distance is adjustable from 72mm to 85mm, allowing compatibility with different euro door hole standards.

The impact resistance rating is 10,000N or higher. What does this mean? We applied lateral force to the bolt using a hydraulic press. At 10,000N, the bolt began to deform slightly but did not break.

One of our customers operates a logistics park with rolling shutter doors. Forklifts frequently struck the locks, causing repeated failures. After switching to our large rim lock, they reported zero failures over two years.

The material is brass or 304 stainless steel. Surface finishes include chrome, matte black, or PVD.

This large rim lock is designed for heavy-duty doors. Every batch undergoes impact resistance testing, and a test report is provided. For custom center distances between 72mm and 85mm, we can manufacture accordingly. MOQ for custom orders is 500 units. Standard products have a lead time of 30 days.
