Horizontal Rim Lock

A standard rim lock is installed vertically. This model is designed in a horizontal configuration. The change in orientation improves resistance against forced entry.

In typical break-in attempts using a pry bar, force is applied through the door gap. With a vertical lock, pressure is concentrated on the front face. With a horizontal configuration, force is redirected to the side of the bolt, where resistance is significantly higher.

This horizontal rim lock features a long bar-shaped panel with dimensions of 150–200 × 25–30mm and a thickness of ≥2.0mm. The bolt throw extends 20mm in a horizontal direction. An integrated anti-pull structure further improves resistance. Combined, these features increase pry resistance by over 50% compared to standard designs.

The center distance is fixed at 72mm. Installation can typically be completed by one person within 20 minutes.

Material configuration varies depending on installation environment.

For indoor or standard applications, brass or 304 stainless steel is available. For coastal or high-corrosion environments, 316 stainless steel is recommended. Grade 316 contains molybdenum, which significantly improves corrosion resistance.

In salt spray testing, 316 stainless steel achieves 96 hours or more without red rust.

A villa project in Sanya, located in a coastal high-salinity environment, installed 150 units of this model. After 12 months of exposure, no corrosion was observed. In comparison, standard 304 stainless steel typically shows visible rust within three months under similar conditions.

Configuration options include inland brass versions, coastal 316 stainless steel versions, and cold-climate variants with enhanced sealing structures.

Each production batch is validated through pry resistance testing at 5,000N of lateral force. Batches that do not meet requirements are fully rejected.
