Euro Rim Lock

In Europe, compliance matters more than branding. Products must meet EN 12209 for the lock body, EN 1303 for the cylinder, and carry CE marking. All three are required for legal market entry. Missing any one of them means the product cannot be sold in the EU.

This euro rim lock complies with all three standards.

The center distance is fixed at 72mm, which is the standard configuration for euro-profile locks. A deviation of even 1mm can result in installation failure on euro-standard doors.

Backset options include 50mm, 55mm, 60mm, and 65mm, selected according to door structure and installation requirements. Cylinder sizes are available in 35/35mm or 40/40mm. Security grades are C or Super C, with a pick resistance rating of 15 minutes or more.

The lock body is made from solid steel, not stamped iron.

We tested the service life of this euro rim lock, and it successfully passed 200,000 cycles without malfunction. A sample tested beyond 250,000 cycles was disassembled for wear analysis. The latch bolt showed 0.08mm wear, and the square bolt showed 0.05mm wear, while the lock remained fully functional.

This level of precision is achieved through in-house CNC machining at Wenzhong, with a manufacturing tolerance of ±0.02mm. In comparison, stamped components typically have a tolerance of ±0.1mm-five times less precise.

In 2024, a German hardware distributor supplied this euro rim lock for a residential project in Berlin, totaling 500 units. Each unit required individual EN certification documentation, which was fully provided.

European buyers are highly strict on standards, but once a product meets requirements, procurement decisions are straightforward.
