Euro Cylinder Night Latch

A euro lock is not just about looking like one. It has to pass EN 1303 for the cylinder. And EN 12209 for the lock body. This euro cylinder night latch has both. No shortcuts. We also have CE. You need all three to sell in Europe legally.

The cylinder size is 40/50mm. Outside is 40mm. Inside is 50mm. The lock body has a 72mm center distance. The backset can move from 50mm to 60mm. The bolt has two parts. A square bolt and a latch bolt. Both are stainless steel. The square bolt is 15x15mm. Normal ones are only 12mm. That extra thickness matters.

Fire protection is the main reason people buy this euro cylinder night latch. It has a 1.5 hour fire rating (GB 12955). We keep the gap between the lock body and the door frame at 1.5mm or less. When the temperature goes up, the bolt does not get stuck.

The National Fire Testing Center did the test. The furnace hit 1,000°C for 90 minutes. The lock still worked after that. We could still turn the key. The bolt still moved.

They needed 5,000 units of this euro cylinder night latch. But they also wanted an ANSI Grade 1 test. That is the American standard. We sent the lock to the lab. The test went to 800,000 cycles. ANSI only asks for 500,000 cycles. We beat it by 300,000 cycles.

The key system has 5-6 pins. It is drill-proof, pry-proof, and pull-proof. A normal B-grade cylinder opens in 3 minutes. This C-grade cylinder takes 15 minutes or more. Even for a professional.
