Euro Profile Cylinder and Turn

This euro profile cylinder is designed to improve interior-side security and user convenience through an integrated thumbturn mechanism.

Unlike standard double-key cylinders, the interior side uses a thumbturn instead of a keyway, reducing vulnerability to certain manipulation attacks commonly associated with peephole access methods.

In some forced-entry scenarios, attackers attempt to access the interior locking mechanism through the door viewer opening using specialized tools.

Traditional interior keyway cylinders may allow manipulation through the internal key slot. This euro profile cylinder with thumbturn eliminates the interior keyway entirely, preventing standard peephole tools from engaging the locking mechanism.

The thumbturn operates through a 90-degree rotation and provides clear tactile feedback during locking and unlocking.

The thumbturn diameter is 32mm and incorporates an internal torque-resistance mechanism.

Operating torque is controlled at ≥2 N·m, increasing resistance against low-force manipulation tools while remaining comfortable for normal hand operation.

This design helps reduce the effectiveness of remote turning attempts through restricted access openings.

The thumbturn is manufactured from zinc alloy or aluminium with a wall thickness of at least 2.0mm.
