Electric Door Closers Commercial

This is not an automatic door opener. You cannot wave your hand and make the door open. This is a regular hydraulic door closer. The "electric" part is not about the closing. It is about the hold open.

A normal hold open closer uses a mechanical catch. You push the door to 90 degrees. It clicks and stays. This electric door closers commercial uses an electric magnet to hold the door open. You send a signal to the magnet. The magnet releases. The door closes. You can connect this to a fire alarm system. When the fire alarm goes off, the magnet releases all the doors at once. They all close. No one has to walk around and push doors closed.

The hold open force is strong. The magnet holds the door open against 500N of pulling force. That means if someone pulls the door, it stays open. The electric release time is less than 0.5 seconds. The magnet gets the signal. The door starts closing in half a second.

The hydraulic part is the same as our commercial closer. Size 3 or 4. Closing speed adjustable from 3 to 8 seconds. Latching speed adjustable from 0.5 to 1.5 seconds. The hydraulic oil works from -20°C to +65°C.

This electric door closers commercial needs power to hold open. If the power fails, the door closes. That is a safety feature. In a fire, power often fails. So the doors close. We include a battery backup. If the main power fails, the battery keeps the magnet on for 24 hours. Or you can set it to release immediately on power failure. You choose.

Two wires. 24V DC. The current is 0.5A. That is very low. You can connect it to most fire alarm systems. The mounting is the same as a normal closer. No special brackets needed.
