Magnetic Mortise Lock Body

That is a fact. A metal spring compressed and released again and again will lose its force. After 100,000 cycles, a normal spring is weaker. After 200,000 cycles, it might fail. The latch bolt does not pop out. The door does not stay closed.

This magnetic mortise lock body has no spring. It uses magnets instead. When you close the door, a magnet in the door frame pulls the latch bolt out. The bolt goes into the strike plate. The door locks. No spring. No metal fatigue.

The side force resistance is 6,000N or more. That is about 600kg of force. We tested this. At 6,200N, the door frame started to bend. The latch bolt was still in place. A normal spring latch bolt would retract at 3,000N. Someone could kick the door open. Our magnetic lock stays closed.

A normal lock has spring resistance. You feel the spring when you turn the handle. This magnetic mortise lock body has no spring. The turning force is 1.5-2.5N·m. That is about 30% lighter than a normal lock. It feels smooth. It feels premium.

The size is standard. 125x22mm for 60mm backset. 145x22mm for 70mm backset. It fits the same door holes as a normal mortise lock. You do not need to change anything. Just take out the old lock. Put in this magnetic lock.

A neodymium magnet loses less than 5% of its force in 50 years. So this magnetic mortise lock body will work like new for decades. No maintenance. No spring replacements. We tested the magnetic force for 100,000 cycles. No change.

The cylinder is euro profile. 35/35mm or 40/40mm. Center distance 72mm. The warranty on the magnetic function is 5 years. If the magnet fails, we replace the lock. This lock is for new homes, hotels, apartments, and any project where you want fewer callbacks.
