Magnetic Mortise Lock Case

It is just the case. The outer shell. No magnetic parts inside. No cylinder. No latch. Just the metal box. Why would someone buy this?

Some lock factories have their own magnetic technology. They know how to make the magnetic parts. But making the metal case is expensive. The mold costs money. The stamping machine costs money. It is not worth it for small volumes. So they buy the case from us. They put their own magnetic parts inside.

This magnetic mortise lock case is made of cold-rolled steel. 1.2mm or 1.5mm thickness. Pick 1.2mm for standard indoor use. Pick 1.5mm for high traffic or semi-outdoor use. The holes are the standard size. 125x22mm or 145x22mm. It fits 99% of mortise lock installations.

Flatness is important. If the case is bent, the internal parts do not fit right. The lock will feel rough. Our case has a warp of 0.3mm or less. Normal cases have a warp of 0.5-1.0mm. That does not sound like much. But when you install the lock, a warped case makes the face plate sit crooked. There is a gap. It looks bad.

The surface is electrolytic zinc plating. Silver white. Not yellow zinc. Not painted. Salt spray 48 hours. The internal gap for parts is 0.25mm or less. That means our magnetic parts fit perfectly. Other brands' magnetic parts will also fit as long as they meet the standard size.
